A timber framework of rafters and roof boards that sit above the main frame. The shingles are nailed to the roof boards in overlapping courses in the same way as on a traditional outbuilding or garden room. The shingle roof is pitched to shed water away from the wall fixing.

Brick, rendered block and timber frame are all suitable. The fixing method varies by wall type. The structure fixes to the house or garage wall via a ledger — the same approach as any wall mounted timber structure in the range.

Forest Green and Slate Grey. Both are standard hexagonal shingle tiles in a bitumen felt finish — a traditional carport and outbuilding roofing material.

That depends on the size chosen. The standard sizes in the range are designed to cover one or two vehicles — the width of the structure and the span between posts determines this. The available sizes and their vehicle coverage are confirmed at the point of order.

A carport attached to the house may require planning permission depending on size, proximity to the boundary and whether the property is in a conservation area.
