Pergola Installation & Self Assembly

At Roma Verandas, we keep things simple and transparent. Installation is available as an optional service and will always be clearly shown on your quotation. This allows you to see exactly what is included and choose the option that best suits your project.

Some customers prefer a fully managed installation, while others already have a trusted installer, builder or landscaper in place, or simply want to handle the build themselves. For that reason, both professional installation and self assembly are available options.

Whichever route you choose, the goal is the same: a properly installed pergola that looks right, performs well and transforms how you use your outdoor space.

Professional installation

Professional installation can be selected as part of your quotation. If chosen, your pergola will be delivered, assembled on site and securely fixed to your prepared surface by an experienced installation team.

If your pergola includes accessories such as screens, sliding panels or other compatible upgrades, these are fitted as part of the same installation wherever applicable, so the structure is ready to enjoy as soon as the work is complete.

What installation includes

Your installation service covers delivery of the pergola, on-site assembly of the main structure, secure fixing to a suitable prepared surface, fitting of applicable ordered accessories, final alignment checks and a walkthrough of the finished structure.

Lead times

Installation timing will vary depending on product availability, location and schedule. Once your order is confirmed, our team will contact you to arrange the next steps and discuss a suitable installation date.

Suitable installation surfaces

Pergolas can be installed onto a range of suitable prepared surfaces, including concrete bases, paving, decking and other structurally sound areas. The key requirement is that the surface is level, stable and suitable for securely fixing the structure.

If you are unsure whether your surface is appropriate, please contact us before ordering and we will be happy to advise.

Preparation requirements

Before installation takes place, all groundwork and base preparation must be fully completed. Our installers assemble and fix the pergola itself, but they do not carry out groundwork, levelling, landscaping or base construction.

If the area is not properly prepared when the installation team arrives, installation may need to be postponed and additional charges could apply for a return visit.

Electrical connections

If your pergola includes lighting, heating or other powered accessories, final connection to the mains supply may need to be completed by a qualified electrician. Our installation team will fit compatible components where included, but mains electrical sign-off should always be handled appropriately.

Wall connections and flashing

Where a pergola is installed against a wall, flashing may be used to help improve the weather seal. Because wall finishes and surfaces vary from property to property, a fully watertight seal cannot be guaranteed in every installation scenario.

On the day of installation

Please ensure someone is available to meet the installation team and confirm the pergola position before work begins. Clear access to the installation area should also be available to help the process run smoothly and safely.

If any site-related issue arises during installation, the team will explain the situation and contact the office if needed so the best solution can be agreed.

If you have any questions before installation day, please contact us at romaverandas@gmail.com.

Self assembly

Self assembly is available as an alternative to installation. This option suits customers who already have a contractor in place or those who are comfortable managing the build independently.

Your pergola will be supplied as a flat-pack kit with the necessary structural parts and fixings, along with the relevant installation instructions.

Before choosing self assembly

Self assembly should only be selected if you are confident in handling a large structural installation or have a suitable professional available to carry out the work for you. The pergola must still be installed onto a level, structurally suitable surface and in accordance with the supplied guidance.

Typical tools required

Depending on the model and site conditions, installation will typically require standard assembly tools such as drills, socket tools, measuring tools, ladders and levelling equipment. Specialist drill bits may also be needed for certain surfaces.

Support during assembly

If you choose self assembly and have questions before or during the build, our team is happy to help where we can. Simply contact support@romaverandas.com for guidance.

Choosing the right option

Many customers choose professional installation for convenience and peace of mind, while others prefer the flexibility of self assembly.

Your quotation will clearly show whether installation is included or selected as an option, so you can make an informed decision.

Whichever you choose, Roma Verandas is here to help you create an outdoor space that feels considered, practical and built to last.
