The Portico turns a patio into a space you can use in almost any weather. Open the louvres for a sunny lunch, angle them for shade and airflow through a hot afternoon, and close them to sit out through a passing shower.

It works over an outdoor dining set, a lounge area or a hot tub, and motorised control makes it effortless to change the roof to suit the moment without leaving your seat.

The Portico can be self-assembled. It arrives as a kit with all the fixings and instructions, and the louvre roof and, on motorised versions, the wiring take a bit of patience. If you would rather not do it yourself, our approved network can fit it for you.

Either way you need a solid, level base such as concrete or block paving, plus clear access for the materials. Have a power supply nearby for the motor and controls. Whether you build it yourself or we fit it, set aside about one to two days depending on size and whether the roof is manual or motorised.

Wash the powder-coated aluminium frame and the louvre blades with warm soapy water two or three times a year. Rotate the louvres open to reach both faces, then rinse and let them dry.

Keep the louvre pivots and, on motorised units, the drive mechanism clear of grit and leaves so the blades keep turning smoothly. Do not force a stiff louvre; clean the pivot first.

Clear the integrated gutter and drainage channels each season. The louvred roof relies on that channel to carry water away when the blades are closed, so a blockage is worth catching early.

The aluminium frame is covered for 5 years against paint defects such as peeling, blistering or premature deterioration under normal use. The louvre motor and any integrated LED lighting are covered for 2 years.

In coastal, high-moisture or chemical environments the paint cover reduces to 2 years. The warranty applies to normal residential use and excludes misuse, lack of maintenance, storm or snow damage beyond specification, and unauthorised modification of the mechanism.

The Portico is made to order. Stocked sizes are dispatched in around 7 days, while made-to-order configurations take roughly 14 to 16 days to build.

Once it is ready, we deliver it to you to assemble, or our approved network arranges a fitting date to suit you. Have the base laid and access clear beforehand, plus a power supply ready near the pergola for the motor and controls.

Louvred aluminium pergola | the portico | manual & motorised | stepless louvre rotation up to 120° | freestanding or wall-mounted

The Porto is built for those who want their outdoor space to work harder and look better doing it. Its louvred roof rotates up to 120°, giving you precise, stepless control over sunlight, shade and airflow throughout the day. When the weather turns, the louvres close fully to keep rain out so your space stays usable whatever the season throws at it.

What sets the Porto apart is choice. Prefer a hands on connection to your garden? The manual version is simple, tactile and reliable with no motors to maintain. Want effortless convenience? Opt for full Somfy motorisation and adjust your louvres at the touch of a button without breaking conversation.

Built from slim, powder coated aluminium profiles in white or textured grey, the Porto keeps the aesthetic clean and unobtrusive. Freestanding as standard, it can be positioned anywhere it works best, against the house, at the end of the garden, or as a standalone feature in its own right. Versatile, considered and built for year round outdoor living.

Sun or shade

Tilt the louvres to let sun in or close them for cool shade, then adjust again as the day moves. You control exactly how much light and warmth reaches the space beneath.

Dry through a shower

Close the blades and the roof sheds water to the gutter, so a shower does not clear the terrace. Rotate them open again the moment the sky brightens.

Airflow without the glare

Angle the louvres to draw a breeze through while keeping the harsh overhead sun off. The space stays ventilated and comfortable on the hottest afternoons rather than trapping heat.

Set it and relax

Add motorised control and adjust the whole roof from a handset. No reaching, no winding, just a light touch to change the mood over dinner or move with the weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Portico has an adjustable louvred roof. The aluminium blades rotate steplessly through a wide arc, so you can set anything from full sun to full shade, and close them flat to shed rain. Choose manual operation or motorised control at order stage.

Yes. With the louvres closed the roof forms a solid surface that channels rainwater into the gutter and away, keeping the space below dry. Open them again afterwards to let the sun and air back in.

Manual louvres are adjusted by hand with a crank, which keeps the cost down. Motorised louvres move at the touch of a handset and are far easier to fine-tune through the day, especially on a larger roof where reaching every blade by hand is awkward.

It can. Angling the blades lets hot air escape and draws a breeze through, rather than trapping heat under a solid panel. On a bright day you get shade and ventilation together, which a fixed roof cannot offer.

Both are possible. Fix it to the house to extend a patio door straight onto a covered terrace, or stand it freely over a seating area away from the building. Your layout decides which suits, and we can advise.
