The Cristallo is for people who want shelter without losing light. The clear glass roof keeps a terrace or dining area bright and open to the sky while keeping the rain off, and it lets daylight through to the house rather than casting rooms into shade.

It makes a fine spot to sit through a passing shower, dine under the stars with the lights on, or simply extend a bright, sheltered space onto the garden that stays clear and glare-free for years.

The Cristallo can be self-assembled. It arrives as a kit with all the fixings and instructions, and the safety-glass roof panels are heavy, so plan for extra hands. If you would rather not do it yourself, our approved network can fit it for you.

Either way you need a solid, level base such as concrete or block paving, plus clear access for the materials. Have a power supply nearby for the LED lighting. Whether you build it yourself or we fit it, set aside about one to two days depending on size and span.

Clean the reinforced safety glass with a normal glass cleaner and a soft, non-abrasive cloth to keep it clear. Rainwater carries dust, so a wipe every few weeks in summer keeps the roof looking its best.

Wash the powder-coated aluminium frame with warm soapy water a few times a year, rinsing and drying to avoid marks. Keep abrasive pads and solvents off both the glass and the frame.

Clear the gutter and drainage channels each season so water runs off the glass freely. Blocked channels cause overflow down the frame, which is the main thing to avoid.

The aluminium frame is covered for 5 years against paint defects such as peeling, blistering or premature deterioration under normal use. The integrated LED lighting is covered for 2 years.

In coastal, high-moisture or chemical environments the paint cover reduces to 2 years. The warranty applies to normal residential use and excludes misuse, lack of maintenance, storm or snow damage beyond specification, and unauthorised modification.

The Cristallo is made to order. Stocked sizes are dispatched in around 7 days, while made-to-order configurations take roughly 14 to 16 days to build.

Once it is ready, we deliver it to you to assemble, or our approved network arranges a fitting date to suit you. Have the base laid and access clear beforehand, plus a power supply ready near the pergola for the LED lighting.

Glass Roof Aluminium Pergola | The Cristallo | Reinforced Safety Glass | Extra-Wide Panels | Spans Up To 7m | Integrated LED

Designed around light

The Cristallo is built around one idea: maximum glass, minimum interruption. An 8.8mm thermally strengthened safety glass roof sits across extra-wide panels, putting as much sky overhead as the structure allows. The aluminium frame does its job without drawing attention to itself. The result is a veranda that feels more like an extension of the view than a cover over it.

LED lighting runs through the surrounding gutter as standard, so the transition from day to evening happens without any additional work. The structure reads clean in daylight and atmospheric after dark.

It is available in three colours — white, anthracite and black — and works either wall-mounted against the house or fully freestanding out in the garden. Widths run from just over three metres up to nearly seven, with projections from three to four and a half metres. The seven-metre span between posts means fewer columns and more usable space underneath.

Where space is tighter — on a bungalow, beneath a low-pitched roof, or anywhere a lean-to veranda simply will not fit — the flat roof profile solves the problem without compromise. It is also a credible carport when the brief calls for one.

Square 150 x 150mm posts. Straight gutter. A structure that looks the same way from every angle: deliberate, unfussy, and built to last in the British climate without the look ever dating.

Keep the light in

Sit under a clear glass roof that shelters you without shutting out the sky. The garden stays bright and the space feels open, even when you are fully covered from the rain.

Watch the weather pass

Stay warm and dry under glass while the rain runs off overhead. There is something to be said for sitting out through a downpour and watching it from a comfortable, sheltered seat.

A brighter extension

Fix it to the house and the room behind keeps its daylight, unlike a solid roof that would cast it into shade. The glass pergola adds cover without darkening the house.

Evenings that go on

Integrated LED lights the space softly after dark, so a summer evening under the glass need not end when the sun does. Clear roof above, warm light below.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cristallo uses reinforced safety glass rated for overhead use. If it is ever damaged it holds together rather than falling in shards, which is why laminated safety glass is the standard for a roof you sit and dine beneath.

Clear glass lets in light and some warmth, so on the hottest days the space is bright and can feel warm. Many owners pair the Cristallo with a side blind or plan its aspect for afternoon shade if summer heat is a concern.

Yes. Because the roof is glass, daylight passes through to any room behind it, where a solid pergola or veranda roof would cast that room into shade. This is the main reason people choose glass over an opaque roof.

The glass roof is pitched to shed water quickly into an integrated gutter, and rain runs off the smooth surface without pooling. You stay dry beneath, and unlike some roofs the sound of rain on glass is gentle rather than sharp.

No. Unlike some plastics, safety glass does not yellow or cloud with UV exposure, so the Cristallo keeps its clarity for the long term. An occasional clean is all it needs to stay looking new.
