Self Assembly
At Roma Verandas, we keep things simple and transparent. Our pergolas, verandas and glass rooms are supplied as flat-pack kits, ready for you to assemble using your own contractor or by hand.
Some customers already have a trusted installer, builder or landscaper in place. Others prefer to handle the build themselves. Either way, the guidance below covers what you need to know before you start.
Before you begin
Self assembly should only be undertaken if you are confident in handling a large structural installation, or have a suitable professional available to carry out the work for you. The structure must be installed onto a level, structurally suitable surface and in accordance with the supplied instructions.
What is supplied
Your structure will arrive as a flat-pack kit containing the necessary structural parts, fixings and assembly instructions for your chosen model.
Suitable surfaces
Our structures can be installed onto a range of prepared surfaces, including concrete bases, paving, decking and other structurally sound areas. The surface must be level, stable and suitable for securely fixing the structure.
If you are unsure whether your surface is appropriate, contact us before ordering and we will be happy to advise.
Groundwork and base preparation
All groundwork and base preparation must be fully completed before assembly begins. This includes any levelling, landscaping or base construction.
Tools required
Depending on the model and site conditions, you will typically need standard assembly tools including drills, socket tools, measuring tools, ladders and levelling equipment. Specialist drill bits may also be needed for certain surfaces.
Electrical connections
If your structure includes lighting, heating or other powered accessories, final connection to the mains supply must be completed by a qualified electrician.
Wall connections and flashing
Where a structure is positioned against a wall, flashing may be used to help improve the weather seal. Because wall finishes and surfaces vary from property to property, a fully watertight seal cannot be guaranteed in every scenario.
Support during assembly
If you have questions before or during the build, our team is happy to help where we can. Contact us at support@romaverandas.com for guidance.
