A canvas roof that fully opens and fully closes

The Verdeca works differently to everything else in the range. Instead of a fixed roof it uses a retractable canvas, sun-resistant and fully water-repellent, driven by a Somfy remote. Open it for clear sky, close it against a summer downpour, or tilt it to filter the afternoon sun.

The terrace responds to you rather than the other way round, which is the whole argument for a moving roof over a fixed one.

The roof is a tensioned waterproof fabric that folds concertina-style along the frame. Extend it for full shade and cover, or draw it back in neat pleats to open the space to the sky, adjusting to suit the moment.

Yes. The fabric is a proper waterproof membrane, not a shade sail, so when it is extended it sheds rain and keeps the area beneath it dry rather than simply softening the sun.

In high winds the roof is best retracted and stowed, which is the safest position for any fabric-roofed system. The aluminium frame itself stays put; it is the canopy you protect by folding it in.

Rainwater runs along the frame and is channelled down through the hollow posts via concealed drainage, so there are no visible downpipes or dripping edges spoiling the clean lines.

It can be wall-mounted as a lean-to against the house or built freestanding on posts out in the garden, so it adapts to terraces, decks and open lawns alike.
