There are five square sizes: 2.4m by 2.4m, 3m by 3m, 3.6m by 3.6m, 4.2m by 4.2m and 4.8m by 4.8m. The 2.4m footprint suits a small seating corner, while the 4.8m covers a dining table with circulation space around it. Yes. The decking base is integrated into the product rather than sold as an add-on, so the platform and the pergola frame arrive together and are sized to match. That saves laying a concrete slab or building a separate deck first, and it gives the posts a level, solid footing. You still need reasonably flat, firm ground underneath, but you do not need an existing patio.

Roof kits are an optional upgrade chosen when you order. You pick clear, opal or bronze polycarbonate sheets and either brown or white glazing bars. When a roof is selected, a five degree pitch is built into the structure so rainwater runs off rather than sitting on the sheets. Because the pitch is part of the build, it is worth ordering the roof with the pergola rather than deciding later.

Less than untreated wood, but it is not maintenance-free. The pressure treatment protects against rot and fungal decay from the inside, while the Rustic Brown or Light Green finish on the surface is what fades in sunlight and rain. A re-treat with a suitable timber stain every two to three years keeps the colour even. Beyond that, brush the frame down and keep soil and leaves off the decking.

For an open pergola with no roof, the weight of the structure and the decking base does most of the work. Once a roof kit is fitted, the pergola catches wind like a sail, so we recommend fixing it down for stability and safety. You can either concrete the posts into the ground or use our bolt-down feet, which suit sites where you would rather not dig.
