The rafters are sculpted for a cleaner contemporary roofline, curved corner braces stiffen the frame while softening the junction between post and rail, and pedestal panels wrap the base of each corner post so the structure sits on the deck with visible weight. The full notched design underneath makes the whole thing quicker and more precise to assemble.

They are timber panels fitted around the base of each corner post, in the same redwood and finish as the rest of the structure. Visually they give the post a wider, more substantial foot instead of a thin section meeting the deck, which is what reads as high end from across the garden. They are part of the standard specification on this model rather than a paid extra.

Five square sizes are stocked: 2.4m x 2.4m, 3m x 3m, 3.6m x 3.6m, 4.2m x 4.2m and 4.8m x 4.8m, each in Light Green or Rustic Brown at the same price. Pick the finish on how the timber will sit against your brick, render or fencing. If none of the five suits the space, custom sizes are available and we quote against the measurements you send us.

Yes, both are options on the same order. Roof kits use clear, opal or bronze polycarbonate sheets with a choice of brown or white glazing bars, so the roof can be matched to the timber or kept deliberately light. Heavy-duty rebated privacy screening can go on one side or two, which is how most people deal with a neighbouring window or wind blowing straight across the deck.

Yes, and we would rather say so plainly. Pressure treatment protects against rot and insect attack, but it does not hold surface colour against British weather. Expect the finish to lighten over a couple of seasons and plan on a re-coat with a quality exterior wood treatment every two to three years. Beyond that, a wash down each spring and clear gutters of leaves is the whole job.
