Two sizes are made, both 1.22m deep. The 1.8m width suits a standard single door and gives cover to stand under while you find your keys. The 2.4m width is the one to choose where the door sits alongside a window, where you want the canopy to line up with the brickwork, or where two people regularly stand at the door at once. Measure the wall before ordering.

It is a composite slate, made from recyclable virgin limestone and polypropylene, in a pewter grey. Each tile is 445mm x 305mm with a textured surface and riven edges, so from the pavement it reads as natural slate. The composite resists cracking, breaking and delamination in a way natural slate does not, and it is far lighter on the structure carrying it.

You can have two posts or four, and each at full height or half height. Two posts give an open entrance and suit a narrow path. Four give a more enclosed, framed porch. Full height posts run from the ground to the canopy. Half height posts sit on a low wall or brick plinth instead, which is the option to pick where the doorstep is already raised.

Yes. The composite slate roof is certified to BBA, UKTA and ETA standards and carries both UKCA and CE markings. That covers performance against fire, wind, driving rain, snow and moisture, so it is tested protection rather than a marketing line. It is the part of the porch taking the worst of the weather, which is why the certification is worth checking.

The redwood is pressure treated to guard against rot and fungal attack for up to 15 years, and that treatment sits inside the timber rather than on top of it. The stained finish on the surface is a separate thing and it does fade, so plan on a re-coat every two or three years. Timber weathers. Keeping on top of the finish is normal ownership, not a repair.
