The heater that disappears into the ceiling

Most patio heaters are a compromise between how well they heat and how much you have to look at them. The Platinum sidesteps that by being 54mm deep - slim enough to sit tight against a veranda soffit, substantial enough to put out 4500W of directional radiant heat.

Short-wave radiant energy warms people and surfaces rather than air, so it holds up in the open-sided spaces where a convection heater would be useless. The tinted ceramic screen keeps the element from glaring at anyone sitting under it, which is exactly where you want a heater above a dining table.

4500W maximum output per heater

54mm deep housing, IPX4 rated, brushed 304 stainless steel

Fully Dimmable

Paired with an Affinity controller the output adjusts in 1% steps, from a gentle background warmth to full output.

2-Year Warranty

Every Bromic heater is supplied with a full 2 year manufacturer's warranty, handled by us here in the UK.

Ultra-Slim 54mm

The slimmest heater Bromic build, so it sits against a soffit without breaking the ceiling line.

Explore Platinum Smart-Heat Electric

Four mounting methods from one heater: wall bracket, ceiling bracket, flush recess kit or suspension tube.

Brushed 304 stainless-steel housing with a tinted ceramic screen, finished in black or white and rated IPX4 for outdoor and semi-enclosed use.

Just 54mm deep and 182mm tall, so the heater sits tight against a soffit or beam rather than hanging into the space.

Run several heaters from one Affinity controller to heat a long terrace evenly, dimmed together in 1% increments and grouped into zones in the Bromic app.

Two finishes: matte black for dark timber and anthracite frames, white for painted soffits and rendered walls.

Platinum Smart-Heat Electric Features

Ceiling Recess Kit

Drops the heater flush into a soffit so nothing hangs below the ceiling line.

Output-specific, standard or low clearance

Affinity Dimmer Control

Takes the heat down in 1% steps instead of leaving you with on or off.

WiFi & Bluetooth, 1, 2 or 5 channel

Suspension Tube Mount

Brings the heater down from a high ceiling to where the warmth is actually needed.

For ceilings above 2400mm

Upgrade your space

Choose how much sun you let in. Clear glass keeps things bright through grey British winters, while solar-control glazing takes the sting out of July afternoons. Both keep the rain off, so the patio stays usable all year.

Frequently Asked Questions

It comes down to area and exposure. As a rule of thumb the 2300W suits a compact, well-sheltered spot such as a porch or a two-seat balcony, the 3400W covers a typical four to six seat dining area under a veranda, and the 4500W is for larger or more exposed terraces. If the space is open on two or more sides, size up rather than down - radiant heat is lost quickly to wind.

It is a fixed appliance and must be hard wired by a qualified electrician to BS 7671. The 2300W and 3400W models will usually run from a suitably protected radial circuit; the 4500W draws more and often warrants its own circuit. Have your electrician confirm the supply before you order.

At least 1800mm above finished floor level, with a minimum of 1000mm to any combustible material such as timber, fabric or planting, and 500mm between adjacent heaters. Those are minimums from the Bromic manual - going higher spreads the heat over a wider area but softens it, so most installations sit between 2100mm and 2400mm.

Yes. It is rated IPX4, which covers splashing and wind-driven rain from any direction, so an open-sided veranda or pergola is well within its design brief. It should not be submerged, jet-washed or installed where water can pool against the housing.

Only the finish. Output, dimensions, mounting options and controls are identical. The white version is popular under painted soffits and rendered walls where a black unit would stand out; black suits dark-stained timber and anthracite aluminium verandas.

How do we get you heated?

  1. 1

    Tell us the space

Tell us the size of the area, how it is covered, and whether you have power or gas available. A couple of minutes on the phone or a few photos is usually all we need to get started.

  2. 2

    We spec it properly

We work out the output and the number of heaters your space actually needs, then confirm the mounting method, the controller and any clearances your ceiling height dictates.

  3. 3

    Fitted and tested

Your electrician or Gas Safe engineer installs to the Bromic clearances, we commission the controller with you, and you get a heater that works properly rather than one that merely fits.
